thought for the day

Our local preachers and worship leaders from across the circuit will each be sharing a regular prayer or thought for the day....

Today's prayer has been provided by Christine Campy, from Seamer Church. Christine is a Local preacher and also a regular volunteer at the Chapel Hub in Hutton Rudby.

One day at a time sweet Jesus....

One day at a time, sweet Jesus
That's all I'm asking of You
Just give me the strength to do every day
What I have to do....

By Marijohn Wilkin & Kris Kristofferson 1974

While we're self-isolating, the days seem slow & the nights prolonged. But for our essential workers the days are frantic, exhausting & the nights too.
So we pray, Lord Jesus give them the strength to do every day what they have to do.

€ One prayer, at a time Lord Jesus (that's all He's asking of you) an end to this virus, for health to be restored & livelihoods too

€ One phone call at a time Lord Jesus (that's all He's asking of you) ... to someone we love – family, neighbours, old friends & new

€ One grateful word at a time Lord Jesus (that's all He's asking of you) to someone working hard to protect us – NHS staff & food chain people, to name but a few

€ One thought at a time Lord Jesus (that's all He's asking of you) for someone who's sad, lonely, bereaved, in hospital or in care....it could easily be you

€ One word of thanks at a time Lord Jesus (that's all He's asking of you) to those who work for our welfare, Royal mail, dustbin collectors & and many more too

€ One greeting at a time Lord Jesus (that's all He's asking of you) 'How are you?' we can shout, as we walk down the street, the road or the avenue

€ One grateful prayer at a time Lord Jesus (that's all He's asking of you) for our brothers & sisters in churches & homes through-out the world & the poor

€ One loving word at a time Lord Jesus, (that's all He's asking of you) remembering our nearest & dearest with a – 'glad you're in my life!' & 'I love you!'

One day at a time, sweet Jesus. That's all I'm asking of You,
Just give me the strength to do every day. What I have to do. Amen
