Carlton Methodist Chapel celebrated its 203rd anniversary on Sunday 10 June. There were 35 people at the meal which took place after the anniversary communion service. The barbeque meal was steak, sausage and salad followed by strawberries and cream and was served from the newly refurbished kitchen. There was also a chance for those there to inspect the newly refurbished toilet facilities. After the meal, we were entertained by a local singing group with our own Val on the right.
The refurbishment project was supported through funds from sales to chapels in the circuit. All churches were invited to apply and were encouraged to have a mission focus. For us in Carlton, we hope to use the new facilities to host a regular community meal.
