About us

Located overlooking the river, the Great Ayton Methodist Church has something for everyone. No matter what your age, whether you are local or new to the village, a warm welcome awaits you.

Currently there is a service every Sunday at 10:30am. Normally this is a service that blends traditional and contemporary elements, and also "Kings Kids" – activities for children up to the age of 11.

On the first and third Sundays of the month at 9am , the traditional service with hymns, prayers and a sermon, is popular and well attended. This is followed at 10am with coffee and a chance to chat, and to be joined by folk arriving for coffee before the 10.30 service. At 10.30am there is a more contemporary feel with a relaxed atmosphere. During the first half, children aged up to 11 join Kings Kids for their own activities while the adults and teenagers listen to teaching relevant to our lives today. At about 11.15am everyone joins together to worship God, and music is provided by a live band, to a mixture of old and new songs, and there is time for prayer.
At about 12.00, it's coffee time....again!

• Weekly events include Coffee and Crafts, Primetime Games, Children's activities and events (including toddlers and J Time afterschool club), and Saturday Coffee Mornings.
• Monthly events include Sunday Lunch and Film nights (during the winter), as well as the Community Hub on the second Saturday of the month.
• Our House Groups meet regularly to study the bible.
