Stokesley Bear: December 2018
If you go to Stokesley Methodist Church during Advent, you may be surprised to see an empty shopping trolley decorated by tinsel in the corner of the church. You may be even more surprised when during the service, the trolley is wheeled around the congregation and people add donations of food including cereals, tins of soup, pasta, rice, pasta sauces, tins of beans, tinned meat, tinned vegetables, tea/coffee, tinned fruit, biscuits. All these gifts will go to support the work of Food Banks in the Guisborough area. The trolley will make an appearance on each following Sunday morning until Christmas. So, if you are going to Stokesley Methodist Church on Sunday 2, 9, 16 or 23, don't forget to bring a tin or two!
