Methodist Conference

Greetings in the week in which the annual Methodist Conference begins.
The Presbyteral Session of Conference takes place on 25th and 26th June. The Representative Session runs from 27th June to 1 July. Please pray for all those attending Conference, those leading in these unfamiliar format and particularly pray for our District Representatives as they contribute on our behalf.

This year of course Conference meets in a very different and 'virtual' way. As our representatives log onto video conferences the business will be more limited than usual, but there are still many reports and you can find these on the Methodist Church website. The planned ordination services have been postponed until friends and family can be there to support our ordinands in person. They will, however, be Received into Full Connexion on Saturday (27 June) and this will be live-streamed along the Induction of the new President and Vice-President. You can find details of the live-streamed events here, and full Conference programme details here. If you have not had the opportunity to attend Conference you will get a glimpse of what happens through these links.

There are also 'Fringe Events' which you can join online. These include the All We Can Methodist Conference Carnival, 'Climate Emergency' with JPIT on and 'Everyone's an Evangelist' with some excellent guest speakers. The Beckly Lecture is entitled 'Peace, Pandemics and Plastic Bottles'!
