Our church is situated on the Village Green in the centre of Hutton Rudby, a village at the edge of the Cleveland Hills. Hutton Rudby is part of a Local Ecumenical Partnership, working with the Anglican Church in the village and the nearby Roman Catholic Church. In 2015 the church building underwent a major refurbishment project that transformed the main worship space into a multipurpose space for the community. Now there is Zac's Coffee Servery, free wi-fi, a Computer Corner, a children's play corner, a book area and a quiet corner for prayer. The Hub also has Story Times, the Knitting Group, Computer Help Sessions and Computer Lessons, a Kids Club, a Prayer Time, a Friendship Group and a Caring & Sharing Group, as well as games backgammon and table tennis, which all happen on a regular basis. We are also planning to launch a radio station in September.
We meet regularly for worship on Sunday mornings at 10am, which involves a range of different styles both relaxed and more traditional, and for regular Sunday evening services. We have a number of family focussed activities including a monthly Messy Church, which takes the place of the weekly Kids Club. We have meeting groups for all ages
Hutton Rudby LEP is now sending in teams of volunteers into the school every fortnight to lead assemblies. Our material is drawn from the Bible Society's programme "Open the Book". This involves a number of us playing bible characters and getting the children to respond with simple actions.
Did you know?
Hutton Rudby has a church mouse. See if you can spot it when you visit the Hub.
